Cavendish Banana is the most widely cultivated commercial banana, from the Musaceae family ( Musa acuminata ‘ Cavendish’ ), native to Southeast Asia and now grown globally. Its plant grows up to 3 – 5 meters tall with wide leaves that can extend over 2 meters long, spirally arranged on thick pseudostems. The fruit has a curved shape, smooth yellow skin when ripe, and soft , mildly sweet flesh. Rich in potassium, vitamin B6, and natural energy – boosting sugars, Cavendish bananas support cardiovascular health and muscle function. They’re eaten fresh, sliced into cereals, baked into breads, or blended into smoothies. Keep at room temperature to ripen; refrigerate to slow spoilage. The fiber – rich peels are also used in organic gardening and composting.
