Lemongrass, from the Poaceae family, species Cymbopogon citratus, originates from India and Sri
Lanka. It forms tall, grass-like clumps growing up to 1.5 meters with slender, blade-like leaves
30–100 cm long. The stalks are pale green and aromatic, with a citrusy scent. Lemongrass contains
citral, antioxidants, and vitamin C, which aid digestion, relieve anxiety, and support immunity. Used
fresh or dried, it’s infused in teas, soups, and curries. Refrigerate stalks wrapped in plastic or freeze for
long-term storage.
